Things haven't gone my way the last few days. I was going to write a post today about bad luck coming in 3s, and then a 4th thing happened that we can put down to my idiocy rather than bad luck. Still thing have not gone smoothly.
11pm on Wednesday night I check my email and discover 8 iTunes receipts for ebooks totalling £257. All of them for medical text books, I know I should be happy to fund the Doctors of the future but I somehow doubt these books were actually being received by a Medical Undergraduate, even if they were they would've just spend that 257 they saved on extra Vodka.
I went to bed that night with my washing machine about 15 mins away from completing its drying cycle. I'll do it tomorrow is one of my core philosophies, so I left it to finish.
At 3am I heard water noises and naturally assume we were in the middle of some Typhoon or Thunderstorm - I checked my HK Weather App and there was so such rainy. I walked into my kitchen which was covered in water, after using all of my towel to clean up the spills I then had to wait while my towells went through a whole washing and drying cycle. A) to make sure the machine wouldn't leak again and b) to make sure I could have a shower the next day.
So 3 hours later my towels were dry, my floor was dry and my washing machine was off. And I went to work
Things started to look up, I got out of work on time - I got home quickly to find out whether my washing machine has leakied again and all was dry.
I popped to the cinema to see Inception and got there with plenty of time to have a Viatnemese Pho and get to the Cinema at 7:10pm for a 7pm showing, missing the adverts but catching the movie. In Hong Kong, everything is ontime, and this apparently goes for the cinema too. It turns out when they say 7pm they mean 7:00pm sharp. Lesson Learnt.
So I was ready to chalk these up to the Bad luck comes in threes philisophy (the official chalking would be done tomorrow), and then I went and added to my own misfortune - I paid my landlady twice for my rent. Rent in HK doesn't come cheap and now I'm down that money, I'm hoping I can get it back soon else I'm in poverty mode.
Poverty aside this bad luck streak has to finish soon - so I think I'm going to go to Macao soon. The only question is Red or Black?
